Main Street Atherton has welcomed a few new faces Main Street Atherton has welcomed a few new faces lately 👋

We popped into three recently opened businesses to take a look around:

🍦 Happy Hills Ice Creamery
🎲 Jester’s Junkyard
🇿🇦 Savannas South African Goods

We may be a little biased because we love board games, biltong, and ice cream, but it was great to see these new businesses settling into town. The owners were all incredibly friendly and passionate about what they’re doing.

If you’re in Atherton, consider dropping in, saying hello, and supporting a local business. Every new shop adds something different to our community, and we’d love to see them thrive!
It’s hard to read this article and not feel a bit It’s hard to read this article and not feel a bit proud of what we have here on the Tablelands.

Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park is now a 60km network of trails, but it’s also the result of nearly 30 years of local riders, volunteers, planning, funding, persistence, and people backing an idea long before it became what it is today.

Whether you ride the trails or just love seeing good things happen on the Tablelands, this is a local story worth reading!

Had a sticky beak at the new Priors Creek Parkland Had a sticky beak at the new Priors Creek Parklands this afternoon 👀

We went for a wander through the new space to check it out for ourselves. Lots of open areas, walking paths, shelters, barbecues, and room for families and kids to enjoy.

The basketball court was already getting a solid workout from some local students this afternoon, and we’re looking forward to seeing the new amphitheatre used for future community events and activities as well.

The official grand opening celebrations are happening 10-11 July, with lots of events, music, and food planned that weekend. Until then, the parklands are officially open and ready for the community to start enjoying 🌿
